HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12072010 - C.13RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20849 to reduce the hours of one, full-time Public Defender Investigator II (6NVA) (represented) position to part-time (20/40) and add one, part-time Public Defender Investigator II (6NVA) (represented) position in the Office of the Public Defender, as recommended by the Assistant County Administrator-Human Resources Director. FISCAL IMPACT: TOTAL COMPENSATION IMPACT: Cost savings of $51,465 annually; $25,733 in fiscal year 2010/11 (6 months of savings). PENSION COST IMPACT: Cost savings of $12,888 annually; $6,444 in fiscal year 2010/11 (6 months of savings). Note that the pension impact amount reflects only the employer contribution to retirement. Savings results from reducing hours of current incumbent and implementing a freeze on the newly created position. In anticipation of future budget reductions, this request has been approved at the department-level; this action will implement this request. The newly created part-time position will be frozen until future budgetary impacts are known and evaluated. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this request is not approved the department will continue to pay full-time retirement costs to an employee working in a part-time capacity.
