APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE Appointment In Lieu requests & recommendations for the
November 2, 2010 General Election.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
BACKGROUND:
Elections Code 10515 (a) requires the supervising authority at a regular or special meeting
appoint to the office or offices the person or persons who have filed Declarations of
Candidacy. Elections Code 10515 (b) requires if no person has filed a Declaration of
Candidacy, the supervising authority shall appoint any person to the office who is qualified
on the date when the election would have been held.
Pursuant to Elections Code 10515 (a) and (b), the attachment contains names and addresses
of persons which are to be "Appointed In Lieu of Election or Recommendations" from the
districts.
