HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11232010 - C.66RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #23-461-1 with Vialanguage, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $100,000, for translation of written documents for the County’s Health Services Department, for the period from December 1, 2010 through November 30, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded by 100% by Enterprise I funds included the Health Services Department's budget. There are no rate increases. BACKGROUND: In May 2010, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #23-461 with Vialanguage, Inc., for translation of written documents for the Health Services Department to meet the needs of limited English proficient patients/clients. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Health Services Director, through November 30, 2011, including a minor modification to County’s General Conditions Paragraph 18. (Indemnification) relating to when it is reasonable for County to provide its own defense in the event of a lawsuit. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, the County will not meet Title VI language access regulations and Limited English Proficient (LEP) patient/client needs for the County.
