Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute on behalf of
the County Contract #27–168–6 with Planned Parenthood: Shasta-Diablo, Inc., a non-profit
corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,400,000, to provide professional Obstetric and
Gynecological services to Contra Costa Health Plan members for the period from October
1, 2010 through September 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan member premiums. Costs
depend upon utilization. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care
services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan
membership contracts with the County.
Under Contract #27–168–6, Contractor will provide Obstetric and Gynecological services to
Contra Costa Health Plan members, through September 30, 2011.

If this contract is not approved, this Specialty provider in the community provider network
would not be able to provide family planning and OB/GYN medical services for CCHP
