HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11232010 - C.52RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or Eileen Devlin, Sheriff's Chief of Management Services, as designee, to apply for and accept a California Department of Boating and Waterways Basic Boating Skills and Operations Course grant in an amount not to exceed $17,900 for the training of marine patrol personnel required certification for the period June 1, 2011 through October 31, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: $17,900 Revenue. No County match required. BACKGROUND: The State of California Department of Boating and Waterways (DBW) is prepared to award a training grant to the Sheriff’s Office to provide Marine Patrol training for Boating Safety officers throughout the State. The grant funds shall be used for personnel costs, “one-time” purchases of necessary training materials and equipment and related costs associated with providing the “Basic Boating Skills and Operations” course.
