Subject:Grant Award Amendment #28-746-4 from Anka Behavioral Health Services
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
The HOPE Plus Project, along with the County’s Public Health AIDS Program, will
significantly increase access to health and substance abuse treatment services by providing
outreach and engagement services, an enhanced referral system, expanded intensive case
management, and access to emergency shelter and permanent housing to homeless people
suffering from co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.
On September 15, 2009, the Board approved Grant Agreement #28-746-3 with Anka
Behavioral Health Services to provide interim housing services, technical planning, and
evaluation services to homeless adults, including delivering integrated health, mental health,
and substance abuse services to chronically homeless persons in the County’s HOPE Plus
Project, through June 30, 2010. Approval of Grant Award Amendment #28-746-4 will make
technical adjustments to the Agreement, allowing County’s Homeless Program to continue
providing services through November 30, 2010.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, the County will not receive the funding to provide services
to homeless adults in Contra Costa County.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Not applicable.
