The 15 member EOC consists of three sectors: Public (represented by the Board of Supervisors), Private/Non-profit and Low-income. Ms. Alfaro's appointment will fill the seat vacated by Delphine Smith who was re-appointed by Supervisor Gioia as the Delegate for Public Sector Seat #1. Ms. Gamez will fill the seat vacated by Cheryll Grover; Ms. Grover's appointment was made on March 19, 2008. Mr. La Torre is being re-appointed to his current seat (Private/Non-profit Sector Seat #5). It is necessary to fill these vacancies in order to fully seat the EOC as required by the State of California and federal law.
