Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-642-5 with Chiu-Hung Tung, M.D.,
Inc., a professional corporation, effective September 1, 2010, to amend Contract #26-642-1
(as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-642-3) to increase the payment limit by
$6,700, from $391,000 to a new payment limit of $397,700, with no change in the original
term of October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. No increase in rates. Increase is due to
additional anesthesiology coverage.
BACKGROUND:
On September 15, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-642-1 (as
amended by Amendment Agreement #26-642-3) with Chiu-Hung Tung M.D., Inc., for the
period from October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010, for the provision of
anesthesiology services including consultation, training, medical procedures, on-call and
clinical coverage.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Due to unforeseen absences of another anesthesiologist at CCRMC and CCHCs, Contractor
agreed to provide additional anesthesiology coverage services. The original payment limit
was based on target levels of utilization; however, the utilization during the term of the
agreement was higher than originally anticipated.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-642-5 will allow the Contractor to
provide additional anesthesiology services through September 30, 2010.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa
Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would go untreated.
