Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute on behalf of
the County, Contract #26-606-4 with Sodexo America, LLC, a limited liability company, in
an amount not to exceed $284,060, for the provision management and oversight of the Food
and Nutrition Services Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa
Health Centers, for the period from November 1, 2010 through October 31, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
On November 3, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-606-3 with
Sodexo, LLC, for the period from November 1, 2009 through October 31, 2010, for the
provision of management and oversight of the Food and Nutrition Services Unit at Contra
Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.
Approval of Contract #26-606-4 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services
through October 31, 2011.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center would be operating
without management presence in the Food and Nutritional Services Unit and be out of
compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requirements.
