Fanden, Chairwoman of the Board of Supervisors , recommended that Supervisors Tom Powers and Tom Torlakson represent the Board of Supervisors on the Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee (CCTAC) . She referred to the report of the Internal Operations Committee (approved by the Board on December 18, 1984) which changed the membership qualifications to no longer requiring a Board member representing the County on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission as a requirement for membership on the Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee . She advised that Supervisor Torlakson would replace Supervisor Robert Schroder , and that the terms of both Supervisors Powers and Torlakson would end on June 30, 1985. Supervisor Schroder stated that he could not support the recommendation because he believed that it is important to have coordination of all transportation matters with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission . Supervisor Fanden responded that she believed the Eastern portion of the County should have representation on CCTAC and that the appointment of Supervisor Torlakson would provide that represen- tation. She referred to increased traffic and transit needs for East County.
