Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #27–791–1 with Verisk Health,
Inc., a corporation, effective October 31, 2010, to amend Contract #27–791, to increase the
payment limit by $110,000, from $55,000, to a new payment limit of $165,000, and extend
the term from October 31, 2010 through October 31, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% CCHP Member Premiums. This Amendment includes annual
rate increases.
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa Health Plan (Health Plan) is required by contractual obligations and State
requirements to provide annual Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS)
data analysis and reports.
In March 2010, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager
executed contract #27–791, with Verisk Health, Inc., for the period from November 1, 2009
through October 31, 2010, for the provision of consultation

and technical assistance with regard to HEDIS requirements for 2010.
Approval of Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #27–791–1 will allow the
Contractor to continue providing data analysis for HEDIS projects and reports for 2011 and
2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not continue providing HEDIS analysis
and reporting services, and the Health Plan will not be able to meet its contractual and State
requirements for 2011 and 2012.
