Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute, on behalf of
the County, Contract #26-581-4 with Ho-Yin Li M.D., Inc., a professional corporation, in
an amount not to exceed $1,200,000 to provide professional anesthesiology services at
Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period
from November 1, 2010 through October 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. Cost to the County depends upon
utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services. No
increase in rates.
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health
Specialists to provide specialized professional services that are not otherwise available in its
Hospital and Health Centers.
On December 4, 2007, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-581-1 (as amended

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Agreement
#26-581-2 through #26-581-3) with Ho-Yin Li M.D., to provide professional anesthesiology
services including consultation, training, medical procedures and on-call and coverage for
the General and Obstetrics Units at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra
Costa Health Centers, for the period November 1, 2007 through October 31, 2010.
Approval of Contract #26-581-4 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide
anesthesiology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health
Centers, through October 31, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa
Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would go untreated.
