HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11022010 - C.33RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with IKON Office Solutions, Inc., to increase the payment limit by $300,000 to a new payment limit not to exceed $2,100,000 for Case Stored Text Automated Retrieval (CaseStar) Project services, for the period April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: $2,100,000: Administrative Overhead (20% County; 40% State; 40% Federal) BACKGROUND: The Employment and Human Services Department contracted with Contractor to provide Case Stored Automated Retrieval (CaseSTAR) services, a process for automating the existing paper case records to maximize staff resources and improve client services. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) in the Client Service Centers and has resulted in increased staff efficiency and a reduction in costs currently associated with records maintenance and service delivery. The Employment and Human Services Department used existing clerical staff to scan documents for storage into the CaseSTAR system. As a result of staff reductions and increased workloads, this activity can no longer be performed by staff. The Contractor has agreed to assume this vital function. This amendment services to increase the contract payment to cover increased usage of services as a result of staff reductions. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Funding for this contract will be used in full with four months remaining to the contract's term. The Department will be unable to pay for services.
