FISCAL IMPACT: None. BACKGROUND: Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) has launched a comprehensive campaign to encourage flu vaccinations. This year, only one vaccine is needed for protection against H1N1 and two other flu viruses that are expected to be circulating this year. Everyone six months and older is urged to get vaccinated. There is ample vaccine available from health care providers, pharmacies and clinics throughout the county, including county Health Centers. In addition, Contra Costa Public Health will hold a free, one-day, nine-city, flu vaccination clinic event on November 10 from 1 to 7 p.m. – all are welcome. The whooping cough vaccine also will be provided at these clinics.
