Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-508-2 with Liam Keating, M.D., a
self-employed individual, effective October 1, 2010, to amend Contract #26-508-1, to
increase the payment limit by $90,000, from $900,000 to a new payment limit of $990,000,
with no change in the original term of February 29, 2008 through February 28, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. No change in the rate. Increase in
Payment Limit is due to additional clinic coverage.
BACKGROUND:
On April 8, 2008, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-508-1 with Liam
Keating, M.D., for the period from February 29, 2008 through February 28, 2011, for the
provision of otolaryngology services including clinic coverage, consultation, training,
administration, on-call services and medical and/or surgical procedures.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-508-2 will allow the Contractor

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa
Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would go untreated.
