The grants are funded by the California Department of Education via California Assembly Bill 212. The Department is applying on behalf of nine County childcare sites (listed below) in the amount of $5,000 per site. The funds will be utilized to support professional development activities for teachers and site supervisors to enhance program viability. Ambrose Center, Bay Point, CA Bella Monte, Bay Point, CA Brookside Center, Richmond, CA George Miller Center, Concord, CA George Miller III Center, Richmond, CA Las Deltas, Richmond, CA Lavonia Allen, Bay Point, CA Riverview Center, Bay Point, CA San Pablo Center, San Pablo, CA CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If not approved, grant will not be submitted. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Employment & Human Services Department Community Services Bureau supports three of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes - Outcome 1: “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School,” Outcome 3: “Families that are Economically Self-sufficient,” and, Outcome 4: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing.” These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
