HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10262010 - C.19RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20858 to add one part time (20/40) Library Assistant – Journey Level (3KVB) full time position at salary level QXX-1030 ($2,954-$3,773) and one part time (20/40) Library Assistant – Advanced Level (3KTB) position at salary level QXX-1234 ($3,616-$4,618) for the new Gateway Center for Learning Library at the Antioch Community Center at Prewett Park effective November 15, 2010. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact to the County general fund. Cost is budgeted in the Library Department budget. Total compensation cost is $80,826 annually, $11,476 of which is pension cost; in fiscal year 2010-11 total compensation cost is $50,517 of which $7,173 is pension cost (7.5 months). BACKGROUND: On January 24, 2011, the City of Antioch will open the new Antioch Community Center at Prewett Park which will include a Library, the Gateway Center for Learning, open 35 hours per week with circulating materials and computers. The Library Assistant - Journey Level and the Library Assistant – Advanced Level will be responsible for setting up of the new Library, preparing for opening day and ongoing operations of the new Library. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If these positions are not approved, the new Library will not open.
