Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute on behalf of
the County, Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #23-439-2, effective October 5,
2010, with Witt/Kieffer, Ford, Hadelman, Lloyd Corp, a corporation, to amend Contract
#23-439-1, to increase the total payment limit by $75,000 from $85,000 to a new payment
limit of $160,000 and to extend the term of the Contract from February 23, 2011 through
February 23, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Amendment is funded 100% in the Environmental Health Budget.
BACKGROUND:
In April 2010, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager
executed Contract #23-439-1, with Witt/Kieffer, Ford, Hadelman, Lloyd Corp, for the
period from March 10, 2010 through February 23, 2011, to provide recruitment services
throughout the healthcare industry, focusing on hospitals, integrated health organizations,
managed care organizations,

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
and healthcare information consulting firms to fill the position of Chief Operating Officer,
Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.
Approval of Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #23-439-2 will allow the
Contractor to provide additional recruitment services for the Director of Environmental
Health Services, through February 23, 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract amendment is not approved, there will be no Director of Environmental
Health Services to oversee the Division.
