Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #25–046–11 with Shelter, Inc., of Contra
Costa County, a non-profit corporation, effective August 20, 2010, to amend Contract
#25–046–10, to increase the payment limit by $9,028, from $106,151 to a new payment
limit of $115,179, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2010 through June 30,
2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 62% by Federal Substance Abuse/Mental Health Services Act
(SAMHSA) and 38% by budgeted County General Funds. (Additional services, no increase
in rates)
BACKGROUND:
On June 15, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #25–046–10 with Shelter,
Inc., of Contra Costa County for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, for the
provision of support services for Contra Costa County Health, Housing and Integrated

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Services Network (HHISN) clients.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #25–046–11 will allow the Contractor to
provide additional property management services, including preventive inspections of
master-lease properties, through June 30, 2011.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, HHISN clients will not receive additional support services
to include preventive inspections of master-lease housing, and County will not receive
$9,028 in Federal SAMHSA funding for these additional services.
