ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution #20842 to cancel one (1) full-time Mental Health
Clinical Specialist (VQSB) (represented) position #9484 at salary level QT2-1384
($4,733.51-6,433.13) and add one (1) full-time Mental Health Program Supervisor (VQHP)
(represented) position at salary level ZA5 1749 ($6037.42 - 7338.53) in the Health Services
Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of $15,800 of which $3,956 is
attributable to retirement costs and will be funded through the Mental Health Services Act.
BACKGROUND:
Health Services' request for a Mental Health Program Supervisor position is needed due to
the increase in size of the Older Adult Program. Currently, the program has 17 staff
members that work in three seperate programs - Senior Peer Counseling, Case Management,
and Depression Screening and Treatment. The Mental Health Program Supervisor will assist

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Program Manager with the day-to-day supervision of the program staff; will plan,
organize, and implement policies and procedures, and provide clinical supervision to
licensed and paraprofessional staff. The Mental Health Clinical Specialist position is
vacant and is no longer needed.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the recommendation is not approved the Department will not have positions in the
appropriate classifications.
