APPROVE the consolidation requests as on file in the Contra Costa Elections Division from
the listed jurisdictions for the November 2, 2010 General Election (Attachment - Election
Schedule).
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no direct cost to the County. Any additional costs incurred by the Elections
Division by approving this consolidation request will be recovered through billing the
affected jurisdictions.
BACKGROUND:
Elections Codes 1302 (b) (1) and 10400 requires schools, cities and special districts to
consolidate their elections. All of the jurisdictions requesting consolidation for the 11/02/10
General Election have moved to even year Statewide Elections.
E.C. 10401 specifies where one of the elections to be consolidated is a Statewide election,
the Board of Supervisors of the county in which the consolidation is to be effected may
order the consolidation.
