HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09282010 - C.41RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Tremaine and Associates, Inc., effective October 1, 2010, to include additional provisions language to the contract and increase the payment limit by $100,000 to a new payment limit of $150,000, to continue to provide on-call environmental professional services for various projects, Countywide. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no impact to the County General Fund. This project is funded by 48% Flood Control & Water Conservation District Funds, 48% Local Road Funds, 4% Airport Project Funds. BACKGROUND: Effective March 23, 2009, on behalf of Contra Costa County (County), the Public Works Department (Department) entered into a three-year contract with Tremaine and Associates, Inc. (Contractor) in an amount not to exceed $50,000 for on-call environmental professional services for a variety of projects throughout the County. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) This contract amendment is needed to include additional provisions language that applies to projects funded by the United States Department of Transportation, and to increase the payment limit by $100,000 to a new payment limit of $150,000. All other terms and conditions in the Contract entered into on March 23, 2009, between the Department and the Contractor shall remain in full force and effect. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without Board approval, environmental assessments will not be completed in a timely manner; therefore the necessary CEQA, NEPA, and HCP/NCCP clearances will not be obtained which may delay the design and construction of the project and may jeopardize funding.
