RECEIVE this report concerning the final settlement of David Rosen and AUTHORIZE
payment from the Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund in an amount not to exceed
$54,000 less permanent disability advances.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund payment of $54,000 less permanent disability
advances.
BACKGROUND:
Attorney Tom M. Hinton, defense counsel for the County has advised the County
Administrator that within authorization, an agreement has been reached settling the workers'
compensation claim of David Rosen v. Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department. The
Board's September 14, 2010 closed session vote was Supervisors Gioia, Piepho, Bonilla and
Glover - Yes. Supervisor Uilkema - Absent. This action is taken so that the terms of this
final settlement and the earlier September 14, 2010 closed session vote of this Board
authorizing its negotiated settlement are known publicly.
