Subject:Approve Submittal of Grant Application for the Contra Costa Project For Integrated Urban Greening to the
California Strategic Growth Council
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Contra Costa Project For Integrated Urban Greening.
The Contra Costa Project For Integrated Urban Greening will improve the ability of
local jurisdictions to construct and maintain green infrastructure through revised joint use
policies. Support for increased funding would be sought by way of a public outreach
program communicating the health and other co-benefits of green infrastructure
investments.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Staff is applying for a $670,000 grant for the Contra Costa Project For Integrated Urban
Greening. The lack of Board of Supervisors approval would make the County ineligible
to submit an application for grant funds.
