Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to accept, on behalf of
the County, Grant Award #28–819 from Temple Isaiah of Contra Costa County, to pay
County an amount not to exceed $5,500, for County’s Garden Park Apartments Project, for
the period July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Acceptance of this Grant Award will result in an amount not to exceed $5,500 to fund the
required 5% match on State Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment
(EPSDT) funding for County’s Garden Park Apartment Project. No County funds are
required.
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa Mental Health Division in collaboration with Contra Costa Interfaith Housing
and Temple Isaiah of Contra Costa County will implement the Garen Park Apartments
project to provide mental health services for the serioulsy emotionally disturbed youth and
families who reside at Garden Park Apartments in Pleasant Hill, Ca.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
The goal of the Garden Park Apartments Project is to provide children and adolescents with
a stable living environment with emphasis on housing, educational supports, and necessary
therapeutic interventions. Implementing these program components will help to break the
cycle of poverty that leads to future episodes of homelessness with this population.
The Garden Park Apartment Project is funded by State EPSDT funds, except for the
required 5% match. Temple Isaiah of Contra Costa County has agreed to provide funding
for the required 5% match.
Approval of Grant Award #28–819 will provide funding for the Garden Park Apartments
Project, through June 30, 2011.
