Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner,
MD), to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #28–541–17 with the City of
Richmond, for its Recreation and Parks Department, a government agency, to provide
congregate meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program, for the period from July 1,
2010 through June 30, 2011. This Contract includes a three-month automatic extension
through September 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Agency will pay County the voluntary contributions it receives from participating seniors,
after it has paid its authorized expenses. No County revenue is expected. No County funds
are required.
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing an average of 60
congregate meals per day, five days per week for senior citizens at its Congregate Senior
Nutrition site in Richmond.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #28–541–16 with the City of Richmond,
for its Recreation and Parks Department, for the period from July 1, 2009 through June 30,
2010, which included a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2010, for
the provision of congregate meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program.
Approval of Novation Contract #28–541–17 replaces the automatic extension under the
prior Contract and allows Agency to continue providing services through June 30, 2011.
