ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20829 to add three (3) Social Service
Program Assistant (X0SA) (Represented) positions as recommended by the Assistant
County Administrator-Human Resources Director.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of the addition of three Social Service Program Assistant postions, at a total
anticipated annual cost of $303,708 will be funded from County General Funds. An
Appropriation Adjustment has been prepared to adjust the EHSD 2010-11 fiscal year budget
to accommodate the additional County expense and will be submitted to the Board of
Supervisors in the near future. No additional County General funds are being requested.
BACKGROUND:
These positions will be assigned to the General Assistance Program performing the duties of
General Assistance Intake. One

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
incumbent will be assigned to each of the three General Assistance units to meet the
increasing demand for General Assistance within the community and will provide
necessary coverage for medical leaves, absences, vacations, etc. to ensure there is
minimal to no impact on meeting the 30 day timeframe.
These positions are essential in the department's ability to comply with and consistwntly
meet the 30 day time frame for granting or denying General Assistance applications as
set forth by the General Assistance lawsuit settlement agreement. These positions are
needed to comply with the settlement agreement set forth by the General Assistance
lawsuit.
