APPROVE the Walnut Creek Channel Rock and Silt Removal Project and AUTHORIZE
the Chief Engineer, or designee, to advertise the project [DCD-CP#09-85] Project No.:
7520-6B9334, and
FIND the project is a California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Class 1d Categorical
Exemption, pursuant to Article 19, Section 15301(d) of the CEQA Guidelines, and
DIRECT the Director of Conservation and Development to file a Notice of Exemption with
the County Clerk, and
AUTHORIZE the Chief Engineer to arrange for payment of $25 fee to Conservation and
Development for processing, and a $50 fee to the County Clerk for filing the Notice of
Exemption.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no impact to the County General Fund. This project is funded by Flood Control

Subject:Approve Walnut Creek Channel Rock/Silt Removal Project; Authorize Chief Engineer or designee to

Zone 3B (100%).
BACKGROUND:
The project is necessary to maintain flood capacity of the creek by removing rip rap that
has migrated from its original position and is accelerating silt accumulation.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Delay in approving the project will result in accelerated silt accumulation, and may
jeopardize funding.
