HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08102010 - C.37RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment & Human Services Director, or designee, to execute an Inter-agency agreement with Mt. Diablo Unified School District, effective August 1, 2010, wherein the Department will provide food services to the childcare program at Crossroads High School for the period August 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: No net County costs. Richmond Elementary School, Inc. has agreed to reimburse the County, up to the limits of the California Child and Adult Food Program, for all food service expenses related to this contract. BACKGROUND: The Board of Supervisors has approved similar agreements with community based agencies with which the Department contracts to provide childcare services. Diablo Unified School District / Crossroads High School BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) the Department provides the daily meal provision at selected childcare sites. The meals are provided to program eligible children co-enrolled in the California Child and Adult Food Program and the Contractor's education programs. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Employment & Human Services Department Community Services Bureau supports three of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes - Outcome 1: “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School,” Outcome 3: “Families that are Economically Self-sufficient,” and, Outcome 4: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing.” These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
