BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Act of 2009 have made available Federal and State funding to health care organizations
and hospitals, who provide services to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, to assist in
the adoption and implementation of “certified electronic health record technology”,
replacing paper medical records by 2014 . (H.R. 1, 111th Cong. §§ 4001-4201 (2009).
The new classifications, additional positions and recruitment of personnel is critical in
order to secure Federal and State funding, meet target implementation time frames and
comply with Federal mandate to prevent any reductions in Medicare reimbursements.
Hiring personnel will be staggered over a three year period and adjusted as needed to
coincide with the department's roll out schedule. After full implementation and
evaluation, staffing levels will be reviewed and adjusted to the new processing
environment.
