HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08032010 - C.50RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Policies and Procedures of the Office of the Sheriff's Work Alternative, Electronic Home Detention, and County Parole Programs for fiscal year 2010/11, as recommended by the Sheriff-Coroner. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. BACKGROUND: Penal Code Section 4024.2 specifies that the Board of Supervisors may prescribe rules and regulations under which a work release program is operated. Penal Code Section 1203.016(d)(1) specifies that the rules, regulations, and administrative policy of the Electronic Home Detention Program shall be written and reviewed on an annual basis by the County Board of Supervisors and the Correctional Administrator. In 1983, the Board of Supervisors established the Custody Alternative Program. As a condition of participation in the Custody Alternative Program, the inmate shall give his or her consent in writing to comply with the rules and regulations of the program. The policies and procedures must be approved by the Board annually.
