ATTESTED: August 3, 2010 David J. Twa, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: KATHERINE SINCLAIR, Deputy cc: C.21 To:Board of Supervisors From:Catherine Kutsuris, Conservation & Development Director Date:August 3, 2010 Contra Costa County Subject:Contract Amendment with Loving Campos Architects, Incorporated (LCA) BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) The additional services were not provided in the original contract when it was determined the architectural schematic design documents would be included in the "bridging documents". The bridging documents form the basis of the request for proposals to be issued to the short-listed Design-Build firms. The architectural schematic design documents are also being used as the basis of the Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing Schematic design. Given the importance of the documents, an enhanced schematic design was asked of LCA and this was the basis of the additional costs. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Project will not have viable schematic design documents to proceed with Design Build process. Delays will occur in providing adequate documentation for all aspects of the project. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: ATTACHMENTS copy of approved contract
