Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20820 to add one (1) Real Property Technical
Assistant (DY7B) position (represented) at salary level QMX-1168 ($3,387-$4,326) to the
Real Property Division of the Public Works Department, as recommended by the Public
Works Director.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact to the General Fund. Forty percent (40%) of the funding for this position
will be provided by the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA); forty percent
(40%) from the State Route 4 Bypass Authority (SR4BA); and the remaining twenty
percent (20%) from drainage and road and developer fees.
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Real Property Division responsibilities have grown over the last few
years. This Division is responsible for the acquisition of property and land rights for County
uses which include buildings and building sites for airports, Redevlopment Agency projects,
the county road system, Flood Control District projects, and for numerous county and
special district

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
projects. The growth in the number of projects and service requirements to various
contractors warrants the need to add one Real Property Technical Assistant position. This
para-professional position will be responsible for providing direct day-to-day technical
support to the Real Property Division staff in the acquisition of property and land rights
for County uses, and ensure the timely completion and service needs of various projects
including the State Route 4.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, the Real Property Division will be hampered in their ability
to provide timely services, such as the acquisition of property and land rights for County
uses.
