HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07272010 - C.72RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Redevelopment Director to execute and implement a Funding Agreement with Contra Costa County General Services Department in the amount of $1,000,000 for the Walden Green Phase II Project in Contra Costa Centre. FISCAL IMPACT: No General Funds are involved. The budget for the project is $1,000,000 equally split between Redevelopment Agency and County Park Dedication Funds. Total budgeted funds are proposed to cover costs for improvements, capitalized maintenance, preliminary and final design, and construction management. BACKGROUND: Walden Green Phase II Project ("Project") expands upon the current Walden Green Project located along the Iron Horse Corridor in the Contra Costa Centre Redevelopment Area. The Project runs from Coggins Lane to Mayhew Way, a length of approximately 1/4 mile. The design will be consistent with the Iron Horse Corridor Management Program, the licenses and easements for utilities within the corridor, and the County contract with the State of California to preserve the corridor for future transit. The Project includes landscape and trail improvements, including the use of native and drought resistant plants. The Project may also include enhancements to existing Walden Green as well.
