APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Interim County Probation Officer, or designee, to execute
a contract with Solano County, including modified indemnification language, for the
placement of wards at the Fouts Springs Youth Facility at the rate of $4,200 per ward per
month for the period July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
County funds are budgeted within the Probation Department's Care of Court Wards budget
for placement of Court Wards by order of the Juvenile Court.
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa County has contracted with Solano County since February 2004 for placement
of Court Wards at Fouts Springs Youth Facility on a space available basis. This contract is
similar to the previous contract approved by County Counsel and Risk Management and
contains a mutual indemnification provision.
Probation finds the program to be a viable placement alternative for delinquent youth who
are a threat to the community, but whose crimes do not warrant a commitment to the
