HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07272010 - C.30RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Randy Sawyer) to submit, on behalf of County, funding application to the California Environmental Protection Agency, in an amount not to exceed $119,250, for the County’s Health Services Hazardous Materials, Electronic Reporting Transition Plan, for the period from July 1, 2010 through March 31, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this application will result in an amount not to exceed $119,250, for the Electronic Reporting Transition Plan. No County funds required. BACKGROUND: Assembly Bill AB 2286 (Statutes 2008) went into effect January 1, 2009. It requires all local government agencies (Unified Program Agencies-UPA’s) and business regulated under the Unified Program to report electronically by January 1, 2013. This new law specifies that all information gather by the UPA and required to be reported by the businesses is subject to this requirement. Contra Costa Health Services, Hazardous Materials Programs is a Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) for Contra Costa County. Approval of submission will allow the County’s Hazardous Materials Program to apply for funds to implement reporting requirements of AB 2286 for the Electronic Reporting Transition Plan, through March 31, 2013.
