APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee,
to execute a contract with Ujima Family Recovery Service in an amount not to exceed
$127,155 to provide nurturing family recovery services for the period July 1, 2010 through
June 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$127,155: 43% Family and Children's Trust (FACT) Committee, Birth Certificate fees; 20%
State Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention Program (CBCAP); 37% Federal
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) (CFDA No. 93.714). No County Funds
BACKGROUND:
Contractor was selected through competitive bid process (Request for Proposal No. 1109) as
recommended by the Family and Children's Trust (FACT) Committee to provide intensive
services to children ages 6 through 16 who have been affected by parental substance abuse
issues.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract supports four of the community outcomes established in the Children’s Report
Card: 1) “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School”; 2) “Children and Youth Healthy
and Preparing for Productive Adulthood”; 4) “Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing”;
and 5) “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and
Families.” This is accomplished through providing helping children through abusive
relationships.
