HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07132010 - C.103RECOMMENDATION(S): AMEND Board action of June 8, 2010 (Item C.71), which authorized the Employment and Human Services Director to execute a contract with Dr. Robert Sargent,to provide substance abuse counseling, by increasing the payment limit by $16,750 for a new payment limit not to exceed $126,000 with no change in the term of July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: $126,000: 100% County Funds BACKGROUND: The mental health status evaluations for general assistance (GA) clients are required to determine if GA clients are fully able to participate and meet GA program requirements. Substance abuse counseling is a program designed to identify and evaluate GA clients who may be experiencing substance abuse issues and need to be referred for treatment. At this time, neither Employment and Human Services nor Health Services have available staff who are qualified to provide these necessary services. This request to amend the Board action June 8, 2010 (Item C71) adjusts the payment limit to reflect an anticipated increase in services during the contract term of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.
