HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07132010 - C.74RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Probation Officer to apply for and accept a grant from the California Emergency Management Agency in the amount of $100,000 to provide intensive supervision of sexual assault offenders, for the period of October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: A successful application will result in the Contra Costa County Probation Department being awarded $100,000 for FY 2010/2011. This funding will support a Deputy Probation Officer position. Matching funds of $33,333 will be provided from within the department's budget. BACKGROUND: The California Emergency Management Agency is accepting proposals for the Probation Specialized Supervision Program. The purpose of the program is to enhance or create specialized units within probation departments in California to intensively supervise small caseloads of offenders of violent crimes including sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.
