HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07132010 - C.67RECOMMENDATION(S): Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20813 to add one (1) Mental Health Clinical Specialist (VQSB) position at salary range QT2 1384 ($4333.51 - $6433.13) in the Health Services Department. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $123,926 and will be fully funded by Mental Health Services Act fund. BACKGROUND: The position will be assigned to the Mental Health Services Act Older Adult Senior Peer Counseling Program. Senior Peer Counselors are volunteer seniors who are trained to assess the physical and mental wellness of isolated older adults, provide support, and linkage to appropriate services. The Prevention and Early Intervention component of the MHSA expands this program to serve more seniors overall, including more seniors from underserved cultural populations. The clinicians assigned to the program provide oversight to the volunteer peer counselors and develop culturally appropriate outreach mechanisms and referral resources in the community.
