HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07132010 - C.36RECOMMENDATION(S): ACCEPT resignation of Ms. Linda Strickland, DECLARE a vacancy in local committee Pittsburg seat on the Advisory Council on Aging, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Director. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact BACKGROUND: Ms. Strickland has missed January and March 2010 meetings (old bylaws); as well as May and June (new bylaws) all without advance notice in violation of the Council’s absenteeism policy (3.10). Additionally, in violation of Bylaws 4.1, Ms. Strickland has attended no committee or work group meetings to date in 2010 (nor any group meetings since her appointment to the Council in April of 2009.) Further, Ms. Strickland has cancelled all meetings of the Housing Work Group for which she volunteered to Chair. It is necessary to fill this vacancy in an effort to bring the Advisory Council to its required number of active members. The Advisory Council on Aging will notify the City of Pittsburg of the Board’s action on this request immediately and if the seat is declared vacant, request an immediate appointment be made to fill the local Pittsburg seat.
