Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner,
M.D.), to execute, on behalf of the County, Unpaid Student Training Agreement #22-993
with University of Utah, Division of Occupational Therapy, an educational institution, to
provide occupational therapy field instruction in the Health Services Department for
Contractor’s students, for the period from May 1, 2010 through April 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this agreement is to provide Contractor’s students with the opportunity to
integrate academic knowledge with application skills and attitudes at progressively higher
levels of performance requirements and responsibility. Supervised fieldwork experience for
students is considered to be an integral part of both the educational and professional
preparation. The Health Services Department can provide the requisite field education,
while at the same time, taking advantage of the students’ services to patients.
