FISCAL IMPACT: 100% State funds from the California Department of Education No County match 38-910-2 BACKGROUND: Contra Costa County receives funds California Department of Education (CDE) to provide State Preschool and Pre-kindergarten Family Literacy services to program eligible County residents. Approval of this contract will allow the provision of State Preschool services to program-eligible children and families in the Central Contra Costa County area. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Employment & Human Services Department Community Services Bureau supports three of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes - Outcome 1: “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School,” Outcome 3: “Families that are Economically Self-sufficient,” and, Outcome 4: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing.” These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
