HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06222010 - C.67RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Goodwill Industries of the Greater East Bay, Inc. to increase the payment limit by $136,500 to a new payment limit of $409,500 for work experience program services, and extend the term from June 30, 2010 to December 31, 2010. FISCAL IMPACT: $409,500: 100% Federal Funding BACKGROUND: The Work Experience (WEX) program is funded by CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids), which is a federally mandated program designed to move welfare recipients into the workforce and toward family self-sufficiency and economic independence. Work Experience will provide participants with the opportunity to meet their work activity requirements while gaining valuable work experience in proven market demand jobs. This amendment/extension is required to provide sufficient time to complete Request for Proposal competitive bidding process.
