HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06222010 - C.01RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE the Arlington Avenue Curb Ramp Project and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to advertise the project [DCD-CP#09-95] Project No.: 0662-6R4207, and FIND the project is a California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Class 1c Categorical Exemption, pursuant to Article 19, Section 15301(c) of the CEQA Guidelines, and DIRECT the Director of Conservation and Development to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk, and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to arrange for payment of $25 fee to Conservation and Development for processing, and a $50 fee to the County Clerk for filing the Notice of Exemption. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no impact to the County General Fund. (100%). BACKGROUND: The project is necessary to replace 13 existing curb ramps with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps. Installation of the ADA compliant curb ramps will make Arlington Avenue more accessible and improve access to Kensington Elementary School, Kensington Library, Arlington Community Church, and several government buildings. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Delay in approving the project will result in a delay of curb ramp replacement, and may jeopardize funding.
