OPEN the public hearing to adopt fees to be charged by the Sheriff-Coroner for removal,
towing and storage of vessels as authorized by County Ordinance 2005-02 and in
accordance with Article 4, Chapter 2, Division 3 of the Harbors and Navigation Code,
RECEIVE and CONSIDER testimony, and CLOSE the public hearing.
ADOPT Resolution No. 2010/354 authorizing the Sheriff-Coroner to charge a fee of $800
for the removal, towing and storage of vessels as authorized by County Ordinance 2005-02
and in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 2, Division 3 of the Harbors and Navigation
Code.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No County Costs. 100% Revenue.
BACKGROUND:
County Ordinance 2005-02, sections 410-2.014 et seq., known as the Illegal Sanitation and
Mooring Ordinance, provides for the removal, movement, impounding and storage of
vessels in violation of the Ordinance. The Ordinance makes provisions for the

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
a fee for removal of such vessels. This Resolution establishes a fee to ensure that costs of
abatement are recovered, minimizing the impact to the General Fund for enforcement of
the Ordinance.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to adopt Resolution No. 2010/354 will require continued general fund subvention.
