Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner), to
execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #25–047–14 with Anka Behavioral Health,
Incorporated, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $200,641, to provide
support services for Contra Costa County Health, Housing and Integrated Services Network
(HHISN) clients, for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 48% by Federal McKinney-Vento Grant, 35% by Federal Substance
Abuse/Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and 17% by Federal Centers for
Disease Control (CDC) H1N1 funds.
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population in that it provides support
services to County residents that are homeless and have a diagnosis of mental illness or a
dual-diagnosis of mental illness and substance abuse.
On June 2, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #25–047–13 with Anka

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Health, Incorporated, for the period from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010, for the
provision of vocational, rental assistance, and other homeless support services to County’s
HHISN clients.
Approval of Contract #25–047–14 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services
through June 30, 2011.
