HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06152010 - C.13RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to issue a purchase order to U.S. Foods Service in an amount not to exceed $196,000 for the purchase of food for the clients at Discovery House a County’s residential substance abuse treatment facility, for the period from July 20, 2010 through June 30, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% of these funds are from existing criminal justice program funding Comprehensive Drug Court Implementation (CDCI), Substance Abuse Offender Treatment Program (OTP), Bay Area Services Network (BASN), Recovery Act Justice Assistance Grant-(JAG), and the County's Net Negotiated Amount (NNA) contract, along with eligible client/patients' Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funds from the Employment and Human Services Department. BACKGROUND: Discovery House is the only county operated 40-bed men residential substance abuse treatment program facility. It is important that their dietary needs be met with nutritious meals while they are in treatment.
