HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06152010 - C.11RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, on behalf of the Workforce Development Board, to execute an agreement with the State of California Employment Development Department to accept Workforce Investment Act (WIA), Title 1, Youth Formula Funds, Subgrant K178655, not to exceed $1,782,911 for WIA youth services from April 1, 2010 through June 30 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: County to receive up to $1,782,911; 100% Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Youth Formula funds. No County match. BACKGROUND: The U. S. Department of Labor, Workforce Investment Act (WIA), grants funding by formula to states for distribution to local Workforce Investment Act Boards to fund employment related services, including specific allocations for youth employment and occupational training.
