Subject:Request for Park Dedication Funds to Improve Regatta Park in Discovery Bay
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
to complete the project will be provided by the Landscape and Lighting District 57 Capital
Improvement Fund.
It is the policy of the County to utilize park dedication funds to meet local park needs. Staff
has determined that this request is consistent with that policy and is consistent with the
District's plan to improve the park. The proposed project has been considered for several
years, and was unanimously approved by the District's Board on May 5, 2010.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Not approving the allocation of Park Dedication Funds will result in the District not being
able to finance the proposed project and therefore the much anticipated basketball court will
not be constructed.
